Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Diablo IV base game to play Vessel of Hatred? 

Yes. You must have the Diablo IV base game to experience the Vessel of Hatred content. For new players who don’t already have Diablo IV, you can purchase the Diablo IV base game or pre-purchase the Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection which includes the base game and Vessel of Hatred expansion playable immediately, plus Lord of Hatred Standard Edition which will become available April 28, 2026.   

Can I purchase more than one edition? Will I get more rewards? 

You will need to purchase the expansion once per platform you want to play on. For example, to play on both Xbox and Battle.net you would need to get pre-purchase Lord of Hatred on each of those platforms separately. You will not get additional rewards for multiple purchases. If you want to upgrade the edition you purchased, upgrades to Deluxe and Ultimate Editions will be available in-game.  

How do I equip my instant unlock rewards from purchase? 

After purchase, instantly available items will be delivered in-game after next login. Pets can be unlocked in-game then equipped via the Wardrobe, along with the class armor sets. Mounts can be unlocked in-game, then view your mount collection to equip the Basilisk Mount.   

Will I experience any updates even if I don’t purchase the expansion? 

Yes! There will continue to be base game updates that Seasonal and Eternal characters can access outside of the expansion content.  

How do I redeem my World of Warcraft Decor Items? 

Items will be delivered and instantly available in-game after next login after purchase.  World of Warcraft Decor items require World of Warcraft: Midnight and World of Warcraft subscription or game time, each sold separately. Items are expected to be available with the release of the World of Warcraft 11.2.7 content update. Decor items will be available to use during Housing Early Access. Decor items will be visible in your Housing Collection regardless of Midnight ownership.
